This theory also fits in with the larger Pixar Theory (If you are not aware of this theory the SuperCarlinBrothers cover it well) but it states that Boo becomes obsessed with finding Sulley and learns to time travel, this is also stated in the Pixar Theory that the monsters use the doors to time travel into the past, and she ends up as the witch from Brave which was figured out as there is a wooden statue of Sulley in her hut. After spending her childhood convinced that the monster world was real and probably being dismissed by anyone she told, telling her it was a dream or her young imagination she could become obsessed with finding him and finding proof of the existence of the monsters. Even if we don't account for their looks (black hair, unfortunately, different eye colour) it would make sense why young, innocent Boo would become the selfish and life obsessed Mother Gothel. What if Boo from Monsters INC is Mother Gothel from Tangled? The thing that first brought me on to this idea is when watching Monsters INC there is a scene where Sulley is taking Boo to the toilet and while she is in there, doing whatever she may be doing, she is humming a song that sounds oddly similar to the 'flower gleam and glow' song that she sings to ignite Rupunzels powers.
